Our Story

Karleki, named after the Swedish word kärlek (to love), is built on the belief that the most powerful force in the universe is love. If you love others, they will love you in return; do to others what you want done to you. We believe this to be the most fundamental truth of business.

Karleki exists to connect people with businesses that love and serve them the best.

Last year, Jason worked at Blackstone under the Real Estate Acquisitions group. He achieved a myriad of accomplishments during his time there. He was even made the cover of the summer intern video! However, while he was doing amazing things, he felt a something crucial in the company was missing: universal love for its employees. He realized that for many companies, their number one priority is often not their employees. This was the moment Jason knew he had to forge a path for his own.

A few months later, Jason left Blackstone to launch Quance, a real estate data science platform for investors to identify growing markets in the US through quantitative analysis. He fundraised in November 2020, speaking with over 40 venture capitalists over a period of 5-6 weeks. He learned so much about company building from these conversations - the venture capital industry has a lot of knowledge but every entrepreneur needs to filter through what matters and what doesn’t. No one can and should take all the advice they receive.

Through this period, Jason learned how platforms can create incredible businesses that simultaneously both change the world and last a really long time. Jason realized that Quance would never be a business like that. On December 21st, 2020, the vision of a platform, Karleki, that hosts profiles of every company in the world hit him like a lightning bolt. Jason knew this would be his future. He really believes this is the future of our world - incredibly efficient digital marketplaces that allow all business and investment transactions to be conducted through the internet. And just like that, Karleki was born.

In late April 2021, we decided to fundraise and we raised a pre-seed round. We had the privilege of having Eric Yuan, CEO of Zoom, as one of our main investors. This brings us to today, where we are launching with our quickly growly team. If you’ve read to this point, you are incredibly awesome, please reach out to us and we'd love to meet you. Thank you for visiting and sending incredible vibes your way!

“If you’re finding your venture capital investor through Google, something is wrong.” That’s what investors told us. 99 out of 100 investors believe this apparently. We think differently.
